Description


Provides general operational assistance for event set up and break down of a variety of events and activities in Yorktown as well in the Yorktown Freight Shed. Distributes information and answers questions from the general public regarding events and directs visitors to a variety of tourism destinations. Must exercise considerable tact and courtesy when interacting with local businesses, vendors, contractors, freight shed renters, and the general public. Must be able to work a flexible schedule to include weekdays, evenings, weekends, and holidays to support year-round events in the Yorktown area.

Minimum Qualifications
Must be 18 years of age or older.


Possession of a valid driver's license issued by the Commonwealth of Virginia with good driving record mandatory.


Must be able to work independently and have the ability to follow directions.


Must possess good customer service and effective oral and written communication skills.


General knowledge of the historic Yorktown area streets and building locations, and the ability to provide directions to major points of interest desired.


Good working knowledge of industrial housekeeping preferred.


Requires an acceptable criminal background check.
Supplemental Information
Much of the work associated with this position is performed outdoors under all types of weather conditions.


DMV records and criminal background checks conducted prior to employment.
Physical Demands


Must be able operate a utility vehicle, be able to stand for long periods of time, and walking from one work area to another. Able to lift up to 50 pounds and carry equipment from a variety of work areas to another. Able to lift, push and carry a variety of equipment and tools during work shift.
