Location: Hallandale Beach, FL (Applicants within a reasonable commute preferred)
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Hours: Monday to Friday, 9 AM – 5 PM

We are seeking an experienced Controller, with extensive knowledge of accounting practices in the construction industry , to oversee financial management to certify the company is in excellent financial health. Your Role as a Financial Controller:

• Manage a team of 3-4 direct reports.
• Oversee all major financial decisions within the company, working closely with multiple department heads and upper management to determine budgets and department needs.

• Work closely with departments to create financial goals, budgets, and plans that align with the overall company budgets and finances
• Develop and manage financial systems and controls for multiple construction projects.
• Oversee project accounting, ensuring precise cost tracking for work in progress, budgeting, and expense reporting.
• Prepare monthly financial statements, including profit and loss, cash flow, and balance sheet reports.
• Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll specific to construction projects.
• Collaborate with project managers to analyze and forecast project costs.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, including tax filings and audits.
• Monitor contract terms, change orders, and project milestones to ensure accurate financial reporting.
• Implement strong internal controls to safeguard company assets.
• Develop annual budgets and financial forecasts to guide strategic decisions.
• Supervise payroll and ensure timely processing.
• Generate monthly , quarterly and annual financial reports.
• Compose month-end financials and manage book-closing tasks.
• Ensure tax compliance and reporting obligations are met.
• Additional duties as requested.

What We're Looking For:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field (or equivalent work experience)
• CPA certification a PLUS is not required.
• 5 plus years of construction accounting or financial management experience.
• Ideal candidates should have experience working on large-scale company finances and accounts, have excellent analytical skills, and strong knowledge of construction accounting principles, job costing, and financial reporting.
• Excellent communication skills
• Strong, analytical, communication and leadership skills
• Has the ability to work with owners, project managers and other team members.
• Detailed-oriented with high level of accuracy and integrity
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel and accounting software.
